“Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.”

Violence Prevention

Addressing and preventing violence in the community is an important part of our mission.

Supporting:

Prevention

Stopping violence before it occurs requires a toolkit of mental health strategies, strong personal networks, and access to community programming encouraging us to always be the best versions of ourselves. We intend to produce and support programming helping the youth of our community learn violence prevention tactics.

Intervention

Unfortunately, prevention isn’t enough. Many groups are at-risk for engaging in violence or being targets of violence. We intend to partner with local experts in this space to understand the best ways we can engage with and support at-risk populations. Producing and supporting existing programming for violence intervention is a critical community need.

Healing

Supporting how our community heals from violence is embedded in every part of what we do at Eli’s Garden of Healing. As our garden is created, we intend to produce and support programming aimed at survivors of any kind of violence. Community survivor groups are encouraged to reach out to arrange special events in the garden or off-site.

As our programming strategy grows, we are looking forward to making announcements about events and community partnerships. Violence reduction organizations interested in partnering with Eli’s Garden of Healing are invited to email growers@elisgardenofhealing.com
