Plus nonprofits and community groups …

Every maker at the Market purchases booth space as a donation which supports the Eli’s Garden of Healing mission.
The mission behind the market: EGH is working to raise $2 million to build a healing garden where a former Winchester machine gun testing range once stood and rewriting the script as we transform it from a place associated with violence into a place dedicated to hope, resilience, and community.
The future of this project is being built right now, and your support as a maker, volunteer, and attendee helps make it possible.

Founded in 2024 to support Eli’s Garden of Healing fundraising efforts Marcia Thomas, then-Secretary of the Board of Directors for EGH and painter at Marcia Thomas Art, successfully led the ideation and growth of the market for its first two years, doubling the event in size and fundraising results. Huge thanks to Marcia for her tireless dedication bringing this community-centric event to life.

Following Marcia’s move out of Hamden in 2026, Jaylyn Mohebzada, the creative behind the multimedia venture Just Jaylyn, joined the EGH Board of Directors with passion and energy, excited to bring the third year of the Makers Market to new heights with a vision more makers, new activities, and a desire to help spread the mission of EGH to new audiences. As a two year Makers Market participant herself and longtime EGH supporter, Jaylyn is well positioned to lead the Makers Market into its third year for one of our most successful fundraising events of the year!
