EGH joins AFSPCT for a suicide prevention and awareness walk

Over 600 people (and dozens of pups) gathered at Town Center Park today for suicide prevention and awareness.

Eli’s Garden of Healing was so glad to join our community as friends, family, and local organizations gathered to remember lives lost to suicide and celebrate the strength of those with us today managing their own struggles.

We were especially happy to see to the Hamden Police Department distributing free gun locks. Suicide by gun is preventable. Free gun locks help reduce the risk of self harm when people managing a mental health crisis need protection most. These locks were introduced as an initiative by EGH partnering with the HPD to reduce violence in the community. We love it every time we see the police handing these free resources out to the community. They gave out soo many at the suicide prevention walk!!!!!!!
