We are thrilled to share this MAJOR FUNDING NEWS!
The CT Community Investment Fund (CIF) voted yesterday approving awarding Eli’s Garden of Healing a $250,000 planning grant to launch phase one of important work needed to create our healing garden! This funding will be used for structural engineering tests, invasive removal, and more.
Thank you to our leaders in state and local government who helped lock in this critical funding for our community. Your dedication to helping neighbors impacted by violence has been instrumental as we worked to secure this grant award.
In addition to the EGH grant, we are thrilled that Hamden was also recommended $8M from CIF to support families living with crumbling foundations in Newhall.
What great wins for Hamden!!!
Thank you to State Representative Laurie Sweet and Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett for writing letters of recommentations supporting our grant application.
Thank you to Senate President Martin Looney and State Senator Jorge Cabrera for their support in securing this funding. Read their joint press release here.
Sen. Looney “The funding for Eli’s Garden of Healing will help perfect their proposal, and then they can apply for other capital funds in the future.”
Sen. Cabrera “Eli’s Garden, it’s a well-known spot here in Hamden and they do a lot of good work. I think with some more planning we can turn this space into something really special, and that’s what this planning grant will help achieve.”
